Youth Basketball Coaches Checklist

Virtus Training

The Toledo Diocese requires all coaches to complete their VIRTUS Training. You can do so at https://virtusonline.org/virtus/ Once you complete the training, it will be good for five years.
You will need to either login or choose FIRST TIME REGISTRANT on the left-hand side. Choose Toledo Diocese when prompted. From there, choose whether or not you have previously registered and, if not, you will be prompted to create a username and password.
Once that is done, you should be able to complete the training. It is basic, straight-forward material but it does take some time.

The VIRTUS Training should also prompt you to complete a background check through selection.com
The league requires these to be done every even year, but this background check will suffice once completed.
This background check also lasts for five years
The cost of the background check is $25. Thunderbird Youth Sports will reimburse you if you send in a receipt upon completion.

All of your team communications, schedules, and rosters can be managed in the TeamLinkt app.
It is important that team communications are primarily done via the coaches themselves, as they are the ones we have entrusted to do so and it helps avoid confusion if/when issues arise.
